 Re: 2011 24hr Snetterton
Thanks to all those who put their names forward to help Team Lumaca, last night I finally finished getting in touch with those of you who got a place in the team. It's looking like we've got an even stronger team than last year. I just want it to be 24hr weekend now!

I think its a case of who has got experience doing it, so were chosen first, and probably one of the worst things to have in a working pit is a when the pit is crowded because of too many team members.

 Re: 2011 24hr Snetterton
I'm sorry Jon, but we've been very lucky and almost everybody we had on the team last year wanted to come back again this year. It certainly wasn't meant to bebtaken personally and I know I'm not alone in feeling grateful that we had so many kind offers of help, but I felt priority had to be given to those who did such a great job last year. If you want, I'm fairly sure I can find a few teams that need more help and can put you in touch, I would certainly recommend going along even if you don't work for anybody.

 Re: 2011 24hr Snetterton
Wow! It's hard to believe we've got a team together already-I've known teams to still be looking for help when they get there!
Sorry if you've not been included but too many people is just as bad as not enough. But massive thanks to everybody for the response-it was rather overwhelming.
What I would say though is that whilst it's great having a willing team, it would be crap without the spectators cheering the drivers along and keeping them going-I think that is equally important. So, once again, sorry if we've not been able to include you on Team Lumaca I2F but come along anyway and show your support to everybody-looks like it could be an all time record grid!
Cheers

 Re: 2011 24hr Snetterton
Russell, more than 20 signed up already, but the £140 discount for early payment might have distorted the figures a bit... Btw, if anyone's looking for the 'full sleep deprivation' sort of weekend by being involved with a team, it might be worth posting in the Race Club's matchmaker thread. < http://www.2cvracing.org.uk/forum/index ... 651.0.html > Don't make the mistake I did last year, of agreeing to help only to find that the entire 'team' consisted of 3 drivers, a young lad to do the refuelling and myself for everything else. That included taking the b*ll*cking from race control for supposedly not filling in every driver change slip, when I know that I did complete them. Pity I didn't get a receipt from every official that I handed them to, but concentration tends to slip when you're well into a 30+ hour stint ... ken. p.s. Just before the wheels started to fall off wagon No 45... http://www.flickr.com/photos/30132857@N ... hotostream Don't forget to take wet weather gear, as there's not much shelter on the pit wall... http://www.flickr.com/photos/30132857@N ... hotostreamRussell wrote: How many cars are entered?

remember to bring essential supplies. DSC00461 by Sean602, on Flickr and have regular mechanics meetings away from those stressfull drivers who seem hell bent on undoing all your good work. DSC00469 by Sean602, on Flickr ken you more than welcome to join the Scottish garage, sit in a sun lounger and drink beer for 24hrs and keep to the Harper ethos of " ...yes but were still here to have fun chaps"
