Louise, did you tell them you're a 2CVGB member? I think it makes a difference to the premium.

I lied, My first car cost £800 to insure (Fiat Uno45) but I only had that a few weeks, it was the second car (I think was a 1275GT, although it was a while back and I forget, defo a mini) which pushed my policy over a grand, at £1200ish. All TPFT.

then i tried with FJ for a multi vehicle policy so i can drive Mavis and Evie too

You'd need to be on Will's policy, or have the "Drive somebody else's car" clause on yours, rather than have a separate policy on it - not only have you got no "insurable interest", one car can only normally be covered under a single policy. If it was under two, and got nicked/caught fire, there's the possibility of two separate full-amount claims...

I'm with FJ, I originally declared up to 6k miles a year, but then phoned them to up it to 8k. They told me not to worry as they had already allowed me a 2k additional leeway already and so there was no additional charge. Might be worth chatting to your chosen classic insurer to see what they say.

Old is the way forward-Bx TZD and Dyane with FJ is £125. Unlimited mileage too. 8-)

The racer is with Hagerty-everything declared and with 3k limited miles and agreed value it's £108!
