 Help-pics needed of brake pipe
Hello again.Does anyone have a good pic of the brake pipe that runs from the master cylinder to the front calipers? I can't find the old pipe to copy, and cannot for the life of me work out the routing over the gearbox. Thanks.

One thing Sean,I see that the pipe for the rear brakes is closest to the bulkhead.Does it matter if its the other way around

Re: Help-pics needed of brake pipe
that rear pipe is not fitted properly yet as im not happy with the way it comes up the chassis
but if you mean which port on the master then it is important how it goes.

Re: Help-pics needed of brake pipe
see now im wondering if ive got it right ! one manual I've got has the inner port as the fronts but under the subsection of "the ports were reversed form...." haynes is useless for this. They are wrong! front port is the rear so its opposite to my picture above

Re: Help-pics needed of brake pipe
correct master connections as you can see from the handbrakes and the level of the lhm the brakes are "a work in progress", it was chucked together to get it over to the neighbours drive while the concrete you see through the chassis was poured last week. honest

Re: Help-pics needed of brake pipe
Just to re-confirm above - the front connection - ie the one nearest the front of the car is the REAR brakes - the one in the middle of the master cylinder is the FRONT brakes connection so that no-one is in any doubt.....

Pick one, it doesn't matter. The master cylinder is not working like a ''proper'' dual circuit brake system found all modern cars

Re: Help-pics needed of brake pipe
Viking, are you suggesting that it doesn't matter if the rear brakes come on before the front brakes? Citroen are very specific about which port on the dual master cylinder is connected to which circuit, with Acadianes since 1979 and certain models of 4x4 Mehari being the only ones with the connections at the master cylinder reversed. ken 2CViking wrote: Pick one, it doesn't matter.
