Hi everybody.

I'm still in the research phase determining what I need to get (and can or cannot get) before starting the rejuvenation of Alphonse the 1957 Slough AZ.

I see that ACAS can supply wheel cylinders, brake hoses, shoes and master cylinder for 1950's 2CV, but are these the same as used in the Slough models?

I was wondering if anyone knows whether these were items that were locally sourced perhaps?

I'm not anywhere near the stage of being able to remove and compare parts with pictures. That has to wait until I've got (a) space and (b) spare time, but I reckon if anyone knows these sorts of things they're bound to be on this forum. (Does that sound too sycophantic?)

This is, of course, the first of many enquiries I'll be making as Alphonse and I head down the road together. (Culminating in that eagerly awaited moment when I drive him for the first time!)

During my time in Oz, I worked on several Slough cars and now in France on french made LHD. The master cylinder is the same, front hose and pipes the same, except one pipe coming from the right side instead of left side.

If you have the original cylinder and can't source a replacement try Past Parts, http://www.pastparts.co.uk/ they can fit a stainless steel liner into pretty much any automotive slave or master cylinder.

Because in restoration it is nice to save a period original part rather than slap on a modern reproduction?

Besides you can only make an informed decision on which route to take if you are aware of the choices open to you.
