Chances are it will need a new chassis but that's what you'd expect at that price! We paid €900 for our 400 - "only" needed a chassis/floors/sills/toeboard. The rest of the shell is absolutely mint. But don't forget that genuine-style 400 chassis aren't available. For countries where a genuine-style chassis is "needed", that makes a 400 needing a chassis scrap value only, unless you can find a used one.

Interesting to see a normal car sales garage selling it, you'd think they wouldn't be interested.

 Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
Did anybody see this red special on for £495 'buy it now' last night? No tax or test, been off the road for a bit, but on a galvo chassis and the bodywork looked presentable but faded, not many miles either. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Citroen-2cv-GALVANISED-CHASSIS-electronic-ign-V5-2cv6-/190516266820?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c5ba78744Think it was sold in about 3 hours!

Is the chrome surround detachable? Hetty's is really rusty. I intend to take the dash off and paint it and replacing the trim would look smart.

Also isn't it aluminium, mine is, but I guess older ones might be different. I took mine apart and polished the trim, it's in my thread somewhere, I even showed how to take it apart.
