Re: Today's tool porn not read all of this, but going back to the life time garentee stuff, i use and buy only teng tools, my local shop you just take it in, they rip a new iten out the packet and give it to you, or if not in stock order it in..no fuss, no nonsense, although its got embaressing there now as when i get the reciept for a purchase it has my name on the top! but still before i gott o know them in there they where fine when i broke a teng and took it back (broke a small screw driver, and the 1/4 extener bar ball wasnt holding sockets on, plus broke my mates 17mm 1/2 big split, still managed to do up the wheel nuts on the trailer we where doing fine even though it was split!!!

Re: Today's tool porn Apart from my beloved Stanley ratchet screwdriver and twin ratchet socket wrench (with accompanying imperial sockets) I *think* all my tools are tesco value or homebase  My tesco value pliers which set me back a whole FIFTY PENCE in 2006 are in daily use. Love 'em. Probably made in the same chinese factory as the £20 Teng equivelant too but without the lifetime guarantee! Bought me a set of homebase sockets last weekend. £5 for every socket between 4mm and 17mm with accompanying adapters for 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch and vice versa etc... wrench AND all those weirdo imperial sizes too. Granted the wrench looks like it was part of a £5 set but being slim its easy for getting into narrow places.

Re: Today's tool porn i doubt the tesco ones are anywhere near as good as the teng ones, in fairness to tesco im not saying there crap but the teng, snap on, and such, you get what you pay for, but i use my tools alot, so it was worth spending a bit of money
