Passed a Solex today in Twyning, just north of Tewksbury :) Very nearly stopped to ask the bloke if he'd sell it, but I'm proper skint atm

Solex prices are now getting silly. Even duff ones that you find on French Car boot sales are now commanding strong money. I was looking at a rather tired 5000 in Yellow with bits missing but a runner and the Seller wanted €400. He got it too as I laughed a Dutch man standing behind me handed over the cash with no haggling. Maybe its because it was a Solex 5000 I'm not sure, but that seemed too much for me.

In the UK I've seen projects starting at £150 so I'd not hold on too long as the prices are heading skywards.

Like 2CVs then :(

most Solexes with papers and running cost about 600euro's and upwards.. you can find them for 400-500.
there are many rental companys here with solexes. they buy a lot of the cheap ones.. so the expensive one are left for the rest ;)

Been looking more at these Mobylettes and quite like the sound of them, just found this http://www.leboncoin.fr/motos/224890585.htm?ca=7_s on Lebon Coin and it's just so cool. Shame I can't afford it this year, but maybe next year :D

Great looking bike Paul, but I need to pay for my holiday to Shetland next month and to pay Spanners to rebuild my 205 thousand mile 2CV engine over the winter. Hopefully next year, but in the mean time, how easy is it to get insurance on a Moby? I have an old type license (passed car test in 1990). :)

£198 for my second year of mobylette insurance, I'm 17 so I imagine it would be hard to find anything more expensive that that!
