someone posted a couple of steel cans tigged together-easy!

had a go with the Mig (the one they reckon is useless out the box)

with a bit of a clean up first and a bit more practice reckon it'd be possible to have a clean bead of weld-easier than a rusty oil soaked 2cv bulkhead.

First time for me too.....but it was easy in 1887 .....

Did have a mate though who failed and as the examiner got out of the car, he promptly did a wheel spin and drove away on his own.

I can see al the benefits of tig or mig welders but have just never got on with them, more holes than weld. I use oxy acetylene which I love and can sort of do miracles with. Bottles are expensive here but at least it gets the job done.

Car test first time, truck tests third time each, mostly due to nerves. And going blank when it came to the reversing exercise ... it seems odd, that, now that I can reverse a trailer without thinking about it and actually have to stop and think about which way to turn the steering wheel when I reverse something without a trailer. :)
