A few points,

I don't see that there's a choice between using this website for free or paying to use 2cvgb as has been alluded to. they're different things.

I'm not slagging off the club.

I don't put anything in, and I don't get, or expect anything out.

Just because I once belonged doesn't mean I should be bullied into being a member for life. I've been a member of OSF, a couple of Mini clubs and a few other organisations. None of them or their members have ever said I am a 'skank' for continuing to own a car without belong to the respective club. In the case of OSF I'd join again if I had an apprropriate vehicle. If 2cvgb members want to slag me off and start name calling then congratulations, you're going to a prospective member. I'd rather join another club than feel pressured into it.

If I'm unwelcome at events then fair enough, I won't go. Not me who's losing money there either is it?

I might well renew my membership of 2CVGB at some point, (I guess I'm unwelcome to do a write up for the mag re Spa now too?) despite what people have said, I am capable of choosing what I want to do and where I spend my money.

The views expressed by long-term members in this thread do not constitute the views of the wider membership or the club itself Russ. I'm disappointed when people don't want to join up, but more because I feel the club needs to do something to win people back. It's a said state of affairs if a club just turns its noses up at people - that attitude is sure to lead to a reduction in membership.

I'd be very interested to know a reason why you WOULD want to rejoin. There may not be one, but it'd be interesting to know some positives - not just from Russ.

Russell you really do take things so much to heart. I don't see in any of the posts that anyone was having a go at you as an individual. Nor has anyone said that you are not welcome at events and you know that is not the case.

What has happened in this thread is you have seen two opposed views debated, passionately.

At the end of the day its a personal choice.

I just feel we get more out of 2CVGB as 2CV owners than the 48p a week it costs and deserves support.
