Justin,

Who are you insured with? The like of Peter James & Footman James offer breakdown cover as part of their package - they even include International Breakdown recovery - Gary Dicks had his Dyane recovered from Italy after brake failure!

FJ gave me breakdown cover this year as part of my insurance. £100-ish all in.

You should have breakdown cover with Lancaster, but UK only. They do not cover Europe for breakdowns, not even for an extra cost. What they will do, is give you the phone number of a third party company that will.....But they quote stupid prices. It's one of the main reasons I use FJ.

I got a quote on moneysupermarket and they came up with First Call at £32 with all the whistles and bells included, there must be a catch.

Mine is done through my lancaster insurance policy had to call them out last year and came out and took me and 2cv home quite quickly. Think it only costs 20 or 30 quid on top of the insurance for full on recovery worth calling them and asking for a price.
