Post Guardian's February photo assignment: Cars!
Just spotted this on the Guardian website: http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/ ... intcmp=239

Any budding photographers fancy giving the poor picture editors a break from shots of Mondeos, Astras and Golf GTIs?

There's tips from a pro here:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/ ... hotography

I think I'll have a go. Anyone else up for it? (Having said this, there's probably loads of pics already on this site (esp. in the Deuche Speciales section) that could grace their final selection...)

I'll be relying on a Box Brownie, the natural beauty of my car + a half-decent location... everything else will sort itself out, I'm sure. ;)

The best kit in the world can't replace a lack of "eye".

Which, of course, is why I use a ho-hum camera. Because no matter WHAT I use, my photos will only ever be mediocre...

I quite agree. But the best kit allows for pin sharp photographs of Tesco's car park on a rainy Sunday, which when photoshopped into grainy black and white provide some sort of film-noir existentialist comment on life. (well to Guardianista's they do) Whereas I'll just have those boring old shaky shots of the Himalayas.

He he, you only get flashes of this cynicism, whereas I have to live with it.
