They must be doing something right. Over £25,000 worth of cars sold in the last month.
I recently enquired about a restoration on a car I already own and was told it couldn't be done for less than £4000. (Conservative estimate), the level of work I would like to have done would be considerably more.
Surely that should all make us wonder the level of restoration done on cars that are being sold for £4000?

It's got to be hasn't it?
Let's be honest, it works, and there are plenty people who have an opinion, be it good or bad.
I recently spoke to someone who had test drove a car from there and was less than impressed.
I have to be honest, though, they do look really nice - I'm not a mechanic and have about basic knowledge mechanically, so I wouldn't have even thought to check anything at that sort of price to see if stuff wasn't right.

But would you hand over £4000+ with no knowledge of what you're buying, or would you at least ask the opinion of an expert or somebody clued up? I find it amazing that the car pictured was bought for the amount it was in such poor condition, I realise that some of that grot was hidden but some of it looks like it was easily seen by anybody even vaguely accustomed to our little cars.

Yes, of course you're right. Much better to be a £10.00 widely available book and be as clued as you can be. Which is why I have two very sound 2CV's.
But, I'm still old school and no doubt so are many others who base their decision on trust and the fact that the price should indicate a certain amount of profesionalism in respect of the car and it's condition.
The whole point of this thread has been that the above is very much not the case, which is very sad, especially in these hard hit times, when people can least afford to pay top money for something that then needs the same again spent on it to bring it up to the standard you assume you are buying in the first place.
I find it all very sad (as in unhappy sad!!).

Simple. Somebody, faced with a DVLA form, lied like a politician.

I noticed some discolouring in the paintwork and after a bit of an excavation through a LOT of filler found this:
