 Re: Yet another red spesh...
Anybody ever made their own seats before? I want some nice butler or kirkey seats. I have one, bit it's a bit of an oddball and I can't find another. I don't have £1000 to spend on the seats I want, so was thinking "how hard would it be to take 2cv frames and skin them in sheet aluminium?" what sort of things will I need to bear in mind?

 Re: Yet another red spesh...
That's interesting Tom, thanks. I hadn't considered making the back and seat in one piece. It'd make a nicer job. The seats I want are £1100 a pop, but they are works of art. I'm interested if there are any critical angles or areas that car makers or seat makers tend to stick to. Rules of the game, y'know?

 Re: Yet another red spesh...
These are what I hope to replicate on 2cv frames. But simpler.

Here's 3 of the results that I got: http://papers.sae.org/930111/ (costs $22 though) http://top-pdf.com/download/car-anthropometric-2.htmlhttp://www.scribd.com/doc/17881973/ANTH ... -3101-2008There's loads of others. They all look a bit sciency. Good luck.
