 For show exhaust trim
I have a side exit exhaust and I was wondering if anyone else had put a trim on it it make it look more exciting? Cant find any pics on the 'net. I was considering it as the pipe looks quite boring but I dont want a performance pipe or anything, just a bit of jazzing up

 Re: For show exhaust trim
Any local car spares place is likely to have a selection of trims for various sized exhaust pipes, usually chromed. As long as you have a couple of inches of straight pipe they will fit, they are usually held on with a couple of screws.
I *think* ECAS sell them too.

 Re: For show exhaust trim
I saw a thing on ebay that fits inside the end and makes a supposedly 'turbo' sound, how mad would that be. Probably drive you nuts after a few yards. They used to have exhaust embellishers in the 1950's but I wouldn't want to hang something that heavy on a 2cv side exhaust set up.

 Re: For show exhaust trim
Recall something similar from wa-a-ay back - 25 years ago - which was an exhaust tail-piece with a propeller inside. It wasn't for the turbo sound effect, but to enhance exhaust extraction; y'see, the exhaust spins the prop and the spinning prop then helps to suck out the exhaust... Free energy.

No I dont think I shall do 'fake turbo' Though when my 2CV gets to 60 the gearbox starts to whine and I often joke with passengers that the noise is the Supercharger kicking in!

 Re: For show exhaust trim
incidently what is the advantage (apart from a passenger getting a warm leg as then enter and exit the car) is there to a side exit exhaust?

Well I think there is nothing more cool than a side exit exhaust but also the car definitely had more go in it once I dumped all the old pipework.
