 Re: Yet another red spesh...
It probably doesn't, but it's all integrated into the engine, and it'd be more effort than making the engine lower.

That's interesting, what gearbox? I like the exhausts going over the top, although the 2cv cowling just seems to make things more complicated. Is he a member on 2cvnl?

 Re: Yet another red spesh...
I thought using the 2CV 'box would make fitting it in much easier, I assumed it was quite a bit shorter than the GS. I wouldn't bother thinking about modifying the alternator cover, there's about 5-10mm clearance between it and the bonnet on mine and not much more between the lefthand cylinderhead and the inside of the wing, it was that that dictated how far back the engine had to go. I think my sump hangs down about 10-20mm below the chassis, I would have liked it higher to minimise any risk of damage, but that would have meant getting it even further back. The crossmember was never really an issue. re the wheels, I 'bit the bullet', I'm waiting to pick them up from a coaters near Newbury. Excuse my very sporadic contributions, the 'net's down at home and I'm making bi-weekly trips to the library.

 Re: Yet another red spesh...
I'll have a look at the chassis on my yellow 2cv as it's the same as yours, and I think the crossmember must me smaller than the Citroën one. Once I've modified the rack then I'll know more about how much the front needs. What colour did you do the wheels? Are you living back in the uk now?

 Re: Yet another red spesh...
I mocked it up on a citroen chassis first though, so I don't think it's that. Yeah, back in the UK for a month or two. They're graphite hopefully, I haven't seen them yet, I lob up a pic when I get them back.

That'll look really smart, I like dark coloured wheels. What are you going to do about tyres? Those yokos I've got are lasting well although they're apocalyptically bad in the wet, they do grip well in the dry. I think continental do them in the same size.
