Managed to get an hour or so in the garage today so did a bit of tidying, sealing and painting.

buy a welder and start welding, for me it's a sort of relaxing, your in your own little world behind the mask, only looking/seeing the weld you are making at the moment, see it closes gaps between sheets of metal and so on.

Well, it's not perfect, there are a few runs but the colour's about right.

After about 25 coats, I can think about refitting the door seals, doors and wings then turn her around and start on the drivers side. 8-)

Cheers George, it looks better in the photos than it does in the flesh but I'm not really too bothered.

I've still got at lesat as much welding again to do and then there's the mechanical side of things. Then factor in getting my decrepit Discovery through a MOT as well and we could be looking at sometime in 2013 before the Ami hits the road! :lol:

Although I'm hoping to be able to drive it around France this summer culminating with a stop at the WM on the way home.

We'll see.

just stumbled accross this thread
keep up the good work,ive almost finished my ami break-theres a thread on here about it somewhere
it was almost the same areas as your except it had already been got at and had new floors put over the original rusty ones

have you looked at the roof , as this is the one area ive not touched yet,mines gone in the normal place on both rails above the doors
spog do then repair sections for it though,which ive bought
