I tried welding a 425 fannymould too, same problem, after shotblasting, all the areas with rust had been brazed and I didn't have the kit at the time to repair it like that, I only had a MIG or a TIG welder.

The shitty one, we have tried to weld, but from factory they have used brass or something to seal the welds with.
Therefor you just can't weld in it.


They're brazed, find someone with an oxy acetylene welding torch, or someone with brazing wire in their MIG welder. MIG brazing is used more and more in modern car repairs.

Thus far, these are my observations:

lacks umph
sounds... agricultural, but satisfying when you put your foot down
generally not as bad as I'd imagined :lol:
