Post Wiper shafts DYANE - HOW TO FIX!
Well ....!!!

I have ordered new wiper shafts home when the old ones were leaking and the water was pissing in when it rains.
This little project I thought I would enjoy myself with in the Christmas holidays, but no!

The axles I had ordered, is for 2CV and one would think they were the same at Dyan, but they are not.

As you can see in the pictures, the two pull rods are not parallel, meaning that the right window wiper, is running the wiper off the windshield and beyond the A pillar. (original shafts top, new shafts below)
The reason is that the middle piece on the shaft, is not S-shaped and is also a bit shorter.

Do any of you know if shafts fore Dyane still are available?

Alternatively, the solution must be to cut the rods and extend them or do you have other suggestions?

Hi there,

I'm not sure that they are avail for dyanes. When I had my dyane about 5 yeas ago I ended up cutting and welding 2cv arms to suit.

there was one available and not the other then the other way about, as old stock ran out and the aftermarket geared up.

A good supplier will know what he has and what it wont fit.

buy off online carboot and its buyer beware

Hi guys!

In this case the supplier is an ok guy and he was very sorry, but he didn't know the difference just as I didn't either.
But, having brand new original Citroen parts, and not being able to use them, bothered me, so I put a thread into the Danish Citroen Forum. At first I considered to extend the pull rods, but a guy from DCK (Danish Citroen Club), Fyn, came up with an idea how to solve the problem.

Instead of extending the pull rods, he suggested that one should grind a little metal of and swap the s-shaped and flat middle piece. So I did and it works!

Here is a picture where the wiper shaft has been disassembled and the axle is pulled out.

The axle got a little tap grease, since this does not damage the o-rings, before they were reassembled.
The s-shaped middle piece went on so tightly that I had use a vise to push it back on. I gave it a weld blob to to secure it.

Here it's put together again and now the pull rods is parallel again. So that' s the way to fix it using wiper shafts from a 2cv.

(refurbished below)
