 Aluminium cleaning
I came across a post where someone is restoring an older type 2cv but can’t locate it again. There was a link to the snail forum with many good photos of almost everything. I noticed how clean the gear box was (425 box) and want to ask, how the person can achieve such a wonderful result. Can anyone help please?
Cheers Viking

 Re: Aluminium cleaning
Shove it in the dishwasher. Seriously.
Health and Safety note :- It may, however, be a good idea to make sure she's not home first...

 Re: Aluminium cleaning
Not in my experience. It cleans stuff, so it cleans itself.

It might be worth shoving it on a second, empty, cycle before she gets home. Or, seriously, seeing if you can find an old but working one on freecycle, or chat to local kitchen fitters. If you've got water and drain to the workshop, and the space...

That's a really good idea, shame my garage has not got electric or water
