Does he pay duty at his local tax office or are you telling us on a public forum that a blue Toyota pick up regularly seen at Dell Quay, registration VNA 15S is running on illegally recycled cooking oil?

"From 1 July 2007, users/producers of 2,500 litres or less per annum were no longer required to submit a monthly return (although existing producers will be required to keep basic records for an additional 6 years). This means the use of compliant vegetable oils are now DUTY FREE for the private motorist."
I would be thoroughly pissed off if the government wanted payment for using what is essentially a waste product. Would they charge you to run your car off the bullshit that comes out of Clegg's mouth?

beat me to it i was going to say that without googling it ;)

no he doesnt filter the crap out,
im not saying how the shit comes out, as its top secret and we dont know of anyone (on the net etc) who has figured this simple but yet effetive free way of doing it!!
but when it goes in its pure, no imperfections,
sean hes been running it for 4 years now, only lost 1 injecter in that time (and for 200000 on the clock thats not that bad really is it!! its only a bit low on power on cold mornings but once the 3 litre beast has warmed up and fuel has warmed then its all good and dandy!!
they sent him a letter when they gave the tax brake, which he was waiting for as he thought it was stupid if your dealing with a waste product and "saving the environment"

the trailer is now a standard box trailer so weights next to nothing as we cut away the lid and the innards and put that ramp on the back
but I would imagine with the gen sets they used it would of weighed a bit so its not too heavy to tow with a car !!!! ;)

no but too many people come and pester us when where there and ask us questions so we dont tell any one
also alot of fuel pumps wont run on veg, i cant remeber what pumps cant but theres one type that does and the word bosch fuel pump is in the back of my mind,
theres lots of problems to running on it, its not like fith gear say "pour it in and drive" (Straight out the fryer i must add)

the more regularly the place you pick up changes there oil the better it will be
and to anyone considering doing it, avoid a brand of oil called "prep oil" its like glue
also try and avoid too highly hydrogenated stuff
and dont whatever you do poor it straight in!! (and if you do join the AA)
you also get these kits that they sell
if youve got a mechanical brain / ingenuity then you can work it out yourself (and alot of the time it will be better also)
i know someone down near dover who sells it to anyone on diesel

Ah I see the logic now. Avoid people asking questions by making them as curious as you can.

This student protest thingy is a bit daft, if you ask me. Students will always find something to protest about, it's a student thing. From what I make of it, the new rules that come in, in 2012, will have students paying £6000pa(atm it's £3200), but they won't pay a penny back till they are earning over £21000pa and then they will pay back on average £7pw. Things can not remain as they are, as a country we can not afford it. If I was a student, I'll be happy with that situation, and it's the Lib.Dems that thrashed out that deal with the Tories.

Labour was in power during a "Golden Era", they could have put money aside for a "Rainy Day", they did not, they squandered it all away and sold our gold reserve for a pittance. Whatever happened to Gordon Brown's Prudence? He was never prudent.

I await a backlash

One way or another successive govts have been selling the nation's assets for nigh on 30 years. It's not a Labour v. Tory thing necessarily, it's a nation-state-in-decline thing. And the decline will steepen as globalisation kicks in because it'll mean less and less corporation tax going into govt coffers. Kraft's krafty (ho-ho) little tax dodge of last week being one case in point.... Google's avoidance of UK corporation tax being another. One thing's for certain though: so-called "smaller govt" won't = less taxes for the likes of us.

Post Re: secret diesel lab!
Im not an organic chemist but*.....
there still has to be a saponification process or to be precise Methanolysisto split the triglyceridechains to remove the un wanted glycerine that causes the problems

Bosh work ok on biodiesel lucas/cav dont its to do with the internal lube of the pump, the lubricating properties of diesel arent accidental! cold starts wherby WVO is used the pump self destructs in short order- like they do when you fill a modern diesel with petrol

unfortunatley the seals in both suffer if any of the methanol or ethanol is left in solution and deteriorate quickly( as they do if you mis fuel)

the bosh pump and injectors in my VW are original and have done 200k

simple explanations

in the ball park yet James ;)

Is it me or is the "it's secret" more than a tad ironic coming from the OP?

Sean well we don't use chemicals and it's pure. When I'm next at the yard I'll take a pic of it in a glass. It's pure. When you use chemicals it also thins it down. Our method doesn't which is why people tend to not relalise our method I geuss but either way our way works faultlessly
And yougot what I meant about the pumps

I've spent years with my friend getting itto work faultlessly and it's all good now!
