Post 1981 Drum brake charleston
Hi All
I thought I'd share my latest acqusition. One of the original 'limited edition' Charlestons, with drum brakes and square headlights. I think there are probably only five of this kind left in the UK, so needed saving.

To say it has seen better days is an understatement, but only really needs the "usual" areas tending to, floors, sils, lower bulkhead, heels ad C-posts, sweeps, rear panel and the windscreen suround/bonnet hinge area. The chassis is also ropey, and a replacement is probably on the cards. It does run apparently but that is the least of my worrries at the moment.

But, it is complete and retains the original (if slightly tatty) dogtooth style seats.

Plan is to get it on the road over the winter and then maybe go cruising it in the springtime next year.

Thats a great car.
I nearly bought it myself but lack of time/space/funds meant it was never gonna happen. Glad its found a good home.

Cool as hell, great project. I had an early RHD charleston too, with round headlights though. I got those kind seats for it, which I think are great.
