a joddler is a tool which offsets the edge of a sheet of metal so that an 'invisible' overlap can be made between two panels.
The tool usually has a head which swings through 180 degrees, with a hole punch on the other side.
Most have 5mm punches and I've found that it's often worth opening the holes up to 6mm diameter if plug welding sheet metal that's 1mm thickness or more.

A nibbler is an air powered tool for cutting sheet metal, most useful for cutting curves, but also quite handy for irritating your neighbours...

If you want a hole punch it is worth searching out an old Roper Whitney hand punch rather than the ones combined with a joddler. They're a terrific bit of kit.

I made up new seatbelt anchorages to go in the sills last night. The original one from the right hand sill was servicable but covered in surface rust which I didn't particularly want to introduce to all this nice new shiny metal.

I've also made up some new ones to fit ahead of the original mounts so I can fit 3 point inertia belts instead of horrible gash 2 point statics which are no good for a fat crap like me when I'm reaching across to turn the radio on, grab a fag etc etc.

I also e-mailed a guy last night about jacking points, hopefully I'll hear back from him today and get them ordered then I can really get stuck in-it'd be nice to start welding metal in rather than just cutting rust out all the time!

Got quite a bit done last night although, nothing much that you'll ever notice once it's all put together.

Welded all the strengthening plates etc into the right hand sill for the seatbelt mounts. Also cut out the remains of the inner bulkhead on the rihght hand side and made a template for the replacement outer toeboard.

Just need to get a chance to weld it all in so that I start to see some really visible progress-only putting an hour os so a night in can get a bit disheartening as you never really see any progress but it'll get there.

Did a bit more work on this last night, made up the fillet to go between the rear seatbox and the floor and started to make the lower bulkhead repair section.

No photos at the moment as I don't have a camera and have to use my phone-touch screen phones and metal dust covered hands don't go together too well!

I'm having the whole day on it tomorrow so, with a bit of luck, there'll be some real progress-progress that's worth my while ensuring there's no metal particles on me and taking photos!

Had a full day in the garage today so actually managed to get some proper work done.

That said, I appear to have lost my welding mojo which isn't too good when you've as much welding to do as I have!

Anyway, I still managed to get loads done, I just had to grind a lot more welds back than I'd have liked to.
