I agree, though I'd like mine to be longer so I could sleep in it, can't have both unfortunately

Have you ever met Coops? One of the lankiest people I know, and he managed OK in his AZU (now Ben's). The seats were modified so that the backs could be lifted out, meaning you slept with your head on a pillow thing which fitted over the steering wheel. Very comfy it was too!

I think I would actually seriously consider a plastic van if it was very cheap and someone else had already done the butchery. Mainly because there seems to be a lot less wheel arch inside the van bit, so I reckon you'd be able to fit a wider bed in it.

This is what I like at this plastic AZU. More space on the back. And even more space is in Cimos DAK. :)

I'll be charitable and as positive as I possibly can about that link.

I would rather stab my dick with a red hot poker than waste a car by screwing that thing on the back of it. I've met one of the people involved with the manufacturing side and I've met three of the incompetent fools who are trying to build and sell them. Not people I'd want to do business with. I challenge anybody to tell me a single good reason why that contraption is better than a standard 2cv or van. I'd rather have a fake plastic 2cv van than that thing.

So you don't really like them then?

i once emailed them (villevans) to ask if they'd make some replacement copy azu back doors ,they did reply and ask if it was for an original van or not but then didnt get back to me once i told them, the ignorant gits.
obviously i eventually found it was still cheaper and easier to source some originals.

2cvkeza,
one of the problems with 'fibreglass backed' vans is that the bit that's bolted on is heavier than the Citroen original part.

If you factor in that these replicas are most probably being built on 2CV running gear, not the heavier duty suspension which was used by Citroen for all except the 250 models, plus the ability to fill all that extra load space with gear, then problems can arise.

I was involved with redesigning and then building the original versions of the 'plastic van', from which both Rico and now Villevans 'borrowed' ideas, however they never seem to have grasped that the suspension on those first versions had been modified to increase their load carrying capacity... ;)
Doesn't the DAK use Acadiane spring cans and arms?

Fwiw, I couldn't stand the smell of glassfibre resin, which seemed to bleed through even when the interior had been painted.

Thanks for the explanation . I agree that normal 2cv suspension is not for the 2cv van. But normal 2cv suspension can be modified with AMI spring cans . AK350 and later aks400 is based on AMi chassis and it is strong inaf for van.

DAK is made on aks400 modified chassis and has AMI8 super spring cans and some other detail.
