 Re: My new car ...
Right. I seem to have finally managed to get the gear linkage sorted, by bending the link between the lever on the box and the gear slider on the dashboard. It goes into all four gears plus reverse now. I've also managed to cobble a choke cable together, by pulling the one off my Charleston to bits and fitting the outer and inner cables to the Ami cable's mounting which is (all together now) different from the later fittings. The Ami cable was too short to reach the carb on the modern engine. Here are some pics of the gearbox in its new home. Next job is to bleed the brakes and adjust the handbrake, then I can put tin cowling on the engine, change the clutch and put everything back together.

Don't forget to drill access hole to the gear box drain plug. If not you'll have hell getting to it later

 Re: My new car ...
Me and my old man both have a hole in the top to aid filling up with gearbox oil. Just be careful where you drill! I tapped the hole and popped a bolt in it, makes life a tad easier.
