I was trying to stay out of this and I'm not "taking sides" but surely that statement assumes the assembly is as it was when it left the factory. Over here Kingpins are quite often pulled up at MOT time, are we certain every previous renewal will have been carried out correctly? Just one sentence about the order of the washers would add a lot of value to an already useful set of instructions, even if it is just putting the mind of a nervous "first-timer" at ease that they do have it right. The other thing is how can a novice gain experience or skill without trying? Luckily this forum and all of its opinions give a new source to draw on, together with manuals and spoken advice. I'd really like to see the steering rack article, it would be nice if you'd still do it Viking (when you have the time etc). If there is something to add... no doubt people will. I'd agree with Russ that we just need to take any criticism/disagreement on a technical point at face value and not see it as/make it something personal.

 Re: 2CV school
This is ridicules, we are 10 pages in, still not able to set up a ‘’how to’’ section of whatever you want to call it. I’m beginning to doubt that the offer of doing this section will be any good. Sorry I simply don’t have time for all the nonsense associated with such category. Call me arrogant or whatever, fine it doesn’t bother me. I think I’ll withdraw the offer and will continue posting pictures and text as I did with the king pin tool thread. When finished, I’ll submit it to the administrators and they can decide what to do. Over and out from me Cheers fellows and have a good weekend
Happy working

Not so John. Little point in everyone having the same opinion because nothing get debated. No, I meant the needless personal abuse taking the place of reasoned debate and agreeing to disagree and "hmmm, I see what you mean there. Good point." It happens less on here than on other forums, but it still happens.

I think I'll spend the rest of the day building a wall upon which I'll repeatedly bang my head.
