Another thing - have you just had new numbers plates made up? I'm only asking as they look like the old type font pre 2001. I need a set making but i don't want the latest type font as it looks bobbins

They are new mate but they're new font-I get them done at work.

Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement-I'll keep updating this thread as the car progresses.

BTW, did I mention that so far the running total is roughly £400 all in-on he road? 8-)

That's cos 2cv people are the best mate! Good work though, to even buy a 2cv and get it roadworthy is a job nowadays for that money, to have a car that's legal to use in a race series, and likely as not quite competetive, for less than the cost of a race suit is bloody amazing!

Tbh i cant notice the difference between the 2001 and apprent new, i am just printing some on Steel for my 2cv with a carbonfibre effect, I couldnt notice the difference between the old version and new, so i thought i would have something completly different!!

the difference is subtle - not everyone would even notice it. But i think an older car doesn't look right with the newer - post 2001 type font.

Well, the "emergency" gearbox swap last night (it wasn't really emergency but I couldn't stand the thought of another 60 miles with the worlds loudest gearbox!) was a success.

But the throttle pedal just broke off on my way home!

Maybe I was pushing it too hard? ;)

Spanners, how did you do the dropped/ lengthened steering column? Will have to do similar for the Barbot. Brilliant!
