*shrug* this is a discussion forum, we're discussing. ;)

Just hope you won't start noticing the different font and how wrong it looks on older cars! :D

Also, if you think being anally-retentive about number-plates is weird, some people can't cope if the door handles on 2cvs point the wrong way

I do have to fight the urge to adjust the bumpers on other people's 2CV. I don't mind the rust, but a horizontal taper twixt bottom edge of the bonnet to the bumper is offensive. As are number plates that are fitted on the piss or asymmetrically

As to people who'll happily destroy their gutter because they can't be bothered to adjust the door hinges.......Grrrrrrrrr

I'm a number plate perv. There, i've said it. New - pre 2001 font looks plain wrong in my eyes on 2cvs, or any classic car.

I love to see original dealer fit 'plates - if you've got a matching tax disc holder & a sticker in the rear window, even better!

Wow ... maybe I'm in a minority on this one then.

I've used this chap in the past. Can't fault him. Correct pre-2001 font and dealer info etc. 25 quid a pair.

Are the number plates that are on the car currently from the original supplying dealer?

Then if i was you i'd be trying to get them reproduced. I think i'm right in saying you wanted to keep you 2cv as original as possible?
