Available from your fav store: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165750Reviews on there - from bikers at least - suggest it works. Will clean your injectors too, so fit some first.

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
however, mr O-N and mr DA wouldnt you rather remove the fuel completly and save a few quid and know for definate that its non existant than stick a chemical in? i geuss if it needs mixing then the 2cv suspension is perfect, ie jump up and down on back bumper ps im personally not a fan of additives, ive never used them before in a 2cv, however id rather be boring and stick by the book

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Thanks fella's. I've run the tank almost empty now so if water beer or whatever does sink to the bottom then that's where I'm up too. It's always been my understanding that when a tank is 'empty' it's not, it still has half a gallon or so left in the bottom where the sediment accumulates? If that is the case then the stuff I need out will be right there, and I can't see them being able to pee more than a pint, so that's perhaps all that was in there. Then at least some of it has been used up in giving me the poor running that I've experienced. I think I'll nip to Halfrauds later, put that stuff in, and top it up with two or three gallons of fresh fuel. After that, I expect that the sun will shine and all will be well, my lottery ticket will win, and I'll get better looking every time I look in the mirror. (I must stop believing the adverts). James I know that you'd like me to to do it the proper way, but let me explain; Garage = Cold. Concrete floor = Cold + Damp. Using Tools = Cut hands. Halfords option = Tip it in, drive home, sit in warm house. Edit: This is the type of cap I'm after, I think they look better than those black plastic jobs.

Love your posts James, I have to spend an age working out what you have typed into English. Are there some keys missing off your keyboard? Keep them coming.

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Mr Nail, you're right, there will still be an amount of fuel sitting at t'bottom of t'tank even when it's apparently run 'dry'. This is done, I presume, so that any water, rust, gunge, etc. will hopefully sit there minding its own business and not interfere with the good running of one's machine. How much is there, I dunno - but probably as little as a half gallon in a 2V's small tank? Possibly more. Perhaps a compromise between doing it 'proper' and going Halfraud's way is to try and suck out whatever is still in there using a small-bore plastic tube and a pump of some sort - even an internally-reversed bicycle pump will do. The result should answer a few Qs - just what was put in there, if anything? The 2CV's fuel filler is probably the easiest to get a pipe down, and it should be relatively easy to judge when it's touched the bottom - and not started to bend back up above fuel level... Would anyone care to suggest ways of 'testing' the contents for identification
