Dave,

I rate Bilt Hamber stuff highly - everything i've used from their range seems to be top notch. It always seems to come out on top when tested by the motoring press too.

This could be just the ticket:

Hi Neil,I have read about this product in Practical Classics,it seems to be a good product but there is nothing like speaking to someone who has actually used it.I dont have a huge amount of rust to treat, stone chips on the bonnet,a few on the doors and thats about it.
I will take your advice onboard and wait to see if anyone has either used it or has any other suggestions. Thanks for the advice. :)

James, because the metal used in the panels is so thin,i would think that it would be best to leave as much on the car as possible.I only have a small amount of rust, mainly stone chips. If using a dremmel be careful not to take to much off or even go through the panel. :(

Yer your right. Dremel grinding takes a minimal amount away, not anything measurable, so i tend to use it, in hope!!

Are you actually _grinding_, or are you merely using something like a wire brush to clean back to shiny metal?

I recommend wire brush for cleaning rusted panels. Than use chemicals ...

So, yes, you are removing steel. Use the proper tool for the job, James. Just clean back to a bright metal surface.
