Built by Louis Barbour, and the same as the ones on his 4x4s, apart from the indicator hoops (which I don't particularly like, cosmetically). It's very, very solid. A bit heavy, p'raps, but ROCK solid.

Thanks, good to know. Sounds like a good choice for a raid car, if not making one from scratch. Maybe cut of the "hoops" to save weight? Or keep them and mount auxiliary lights in them, they need to go somewhere anyway, right? Better light is good for driving in the dark.
Is it much more heavy than other alternatives? Weight is important.

I like the look of it, so that isn't a problem for me ;)

Because I think most cars, including the 2CV (and certainly the Dyane) looks terrible without bumpers.

And, I thought a solid bumper would be helpful if stuck, like push/pull/tow,stand on whatever?

I found that the adventure bumpers I had caused the chassis to bend whenever something hit them.

Sadly no, the brackets can't handle it.

When raiding, looks is only for show ponies

The Barbour/ECAS bumpers don't use the Citroen brackets - they bolt straight on to the chassis - and they're certainly strong enough. The tow eyes are on them, and stand up to 4x4 recovery _quite_ nicely.

No worries, I never seen them. I was referring to the original brackets that nearly all raiders I've seen have.
The original P.O. bumper looks good but give little protection apart from keeping things hitting the grill in front of the fan.
