The green wire would have been connected to an indicator warning light on the dash, however the indicators will still work without it, as will the warning light for the hazards.

Re. that problem with your rear lights, later cars had the tail lights on separate feeds, so you need to connect both wires together at the bulkhead.
They're the ones with mauve and green sleeves, male bullet connectors.

Pub time... :lol:

Ken's got there first, but just to repeat;

Green one's for the indicator warning light on the dashboard, not all cars have the light, specials don't, charlstons do, not sure about d*llies, but I think all cars have the wire.

If you can't find the wire, it will still work fine.

This answer was brought to you by looking at a wiring diagram. http://www.2cvstuff.com/Files/Wiring/Wi ... t%2081.pdf

I believe the indicator warning light was compulsory in certain countries(Belgium? Germany etc)but not in the UK. All cars had the wiring there, as it was simpler to manufacture one type of "loom to fit all".

Now the threads are getting confusing, I've just answered that in your other thread.

connect two brake light wires to one connector,

although saying that my brake lights appeared to work fine, it was the liscense plate light on the left side that seemed to be be the left out one so by process of elimination, i paired it up with the other one, which is live all the time..
