At least 30+, in a week and 1100km of very light traffic roads. And that's not including the ten or so in various states in the yard of a Mehari specialist.

Re: nearly that time of year
going to get some erd oxide paint from covers tomrow, 17 pounds for an adequate amount, 2.5l i believe, not to bad, i will check my local merchants before i buy it there,
im planning on painting my back light panel, how easy is it to remove the rear lights, so its bear, so i can sand it back etc, do you think its worth it? its not to rust, only a vew bubbles, but i want to preserve it before i have to replace it!!

Jameswallace wrote: im planning on painting my back light panel, how easy is it to remove the rear lights From inside the boot, there's (IIRC) three 8mm nuts per light. Quote: its not to rust, only a vew bubbles Umm, what else do you think those bubbles are? Sanding and painting the outside will just make it look a little prettier - it won't do a thing about slowing it down, since it's coming from the inside, between the panels of the rear themselves. If you want to slow it down, get some aerosol cavity rust-proofer wax, and fill the lot up. But it won't slow it much once it's got started.

Re: nearly that time of year
If you can see rust bubbles anywhere near the rear lights or back panel you either need to change the rear sweeps, back panel and probably boot floor or LEAVE IT WELL ALONE!
