Post 175 tyres on Gs Alloys will They fit?
Seen a couple of bargain tyres, but they are 175 R15, they should fit ok on a Gs alloy shouldn't they??

But will they fit inside the back arch of a Dyane without any mods??

If anyone can shed some light as Don't want to get them to find they don't fit!!

Cheers

They definately won't fit on the back of your Dyane!

In fact, I'd be inclined to swap the rear arms on it for standard 2CV/Dyane rear arms as 145x15s would rub ever so slightly on the inner arches when she was laden and as GSA rims have a different offset too................. :ugeek:

Cheers Jon

The wheel base is slightly wider on a Ami chassis then is it...

Might see if I can extend the rears wings out a few inches...

Think it would look quite good a bit fat at the back!!

No, the rear track is slightly narrower meaning they rub on the inner arches.

Coupled to the fact that the GSA rims have a different offset meaning they're even more likely to rub on the inner arches etc.

I think the wheel base is very similar if not the same as a 2cv, but the rear track is narrower on an ami.

Regarding tyres, I'm not sold on the idea of massive 175/80/15 tyres on a road car. Maybe back in the day that was the only way to get wider tyres, but if you want wider try smart car tyres. That's what I have and they are pretty good. 165/50/15 or 155/60/15 are what I've got. I think.

The more rubber gripping the road the more strain on drive shaft, wheel bearing et al. So unless everything else is uprated don't go too wide.
