Is he the same chancer with the 'professionally' made spare tyre mounted on the boot? (ie, a grotty rim on a rotten boot) The one that was starting at £100 and left the bootlid completely unable to open?

Just sent this guy a message via Ebay, totally unconected to the doors but, this is what it says;

"Just out of curiosity, how early are these early vans you have and, are they beyond salvage? Maybe I'm scepical but surely some of the stuff you "recycle" could actually be put back on the road rather than just broken? Or, is it your aim to just make stuff even rarer so you can ask more for your parts? Oh, and for what it's worth, I've salvaged plenty of total basket case 2cvs so I have quite literally put my money wher my mouth is plenty of times!"

Will i get a bollocking from Ebay? Will the guy bother replying? Maybe I shouldn't have sent it but he seems to break more 2CVs than the rest of us own! :evil:

You know you are right! This guy has somewhat set his own breaking prices! If they don't sell at it first time they well may be back at the same starting price latter on! My question is? Who and Where are these secret 2cvers buying stuff and frankly throwing money at that tat? they do too! .....I wish I could put a comment somewhere on ebay 'don't feed the troll' :roll: :(

And his reply to me was:

"Just for the record,most of the parts i purchase have already been removed from cars by other people,,,,secondly i only break cars that are total basket cases with rotten chassis and unsalvageably bodies....yes everything is restorable at a cost but we are not talking about Aston Martins or Bentleys here,,,i have sold very nice re-chassied cars for £3000 recently but its easy to spend £5-6000 restoring one,,,if some cars arent broken to keep others on the road then that then is another problem unless people are happy to pay the ridiculous prices for the new parts which are generally very poor quality so this is another problem,,,if people have no sensible priced parts ,,they cannot afford to get them repaired so they either leave them to rot or scrap them,,, i feel i offer a good service to the enthusiast,,,and yes i do sell rolling chassis to rebuild and body tubs to restore.The vans will probably be sold for restoration but one has broken in two and is as rotten as a pear....so this may be broken ,,,hope this answers your question!!!!!!!"

Anybody think I've touched a nerve there then? :lol:
