 Sudden shudder
Going at speed (45mph+), corner to the left, go over a litttle bump whilst cornering... and suddenly the offside (ie right) front wheel starts to shudder. Power off (no break) and the shudder dies away. Any ideas? It can be a bit alarming.

 Re: Sudden shudder
Smiffy, unfortunately, the possible causes include the usual list of suspects, which are 'too much play in kingpin, track rod end or steering rack'. Track lever arm loose on hub carrier and a loose track adjusting sleeve are other possibilities... ken

 Re: Sudden shudder
Hmm. I've had a tracking rod come off at speed, in my blue Club back in the mid-80s. Needed a change of undies that day, I can confirm.

 Re: Sudden shudder
Ive had that happen. First time, the track rod end had parted com[any from the hub and was hanging by a couple of threads on the bolt so it needed tightening. The other possibility: I noticed it kept happening on the same place on the same road... turned out that the tarmac was al 'scrunched up' on the outer side of the bend causing my right wheel to bounce and loose grip alarmingly
