Post vent flap + seal
i was talking to someone at L 2 B (all those moons ago now!) who said that someone supplied a aftermarket vent flap and seal, different to the original design, that doesnt leak.

and as my vent flap is as straight as a roundabout i think i shuold treat the car to a new one (considering it only stays dry if u really clamp it down and grease everything! (like in my post)

anyway does anyone have any ideas where this may be? or anything similar?

thanks :)

mine doesn't leak. if you have a straight vent flap and a new seal it should be fine.....

original as far as i know. could do with replacing soon as some spots of rust are appearing in the corner. probably go for a stainless one myself.

I have an original one, and it doesn't leak. Use no grease or sealer at all. Just see to it that before it is mounted to the car, it's a good idea to bend it slightly in a curve. (If on the table with outer side up, it must have a curve with the middle part being the highest) This is to get a bit more pressure on the edges. If it has the curve the wrong way I guess there will be a chance for a leakage. (Needless to say, you should change the rubber at the same time you change the flap)

well mine is horrific,
the left side when closed the right side has about 9mm gap!!

im going to buy the kit, lay it on a table and see whats what, if its flat ill just leave it flat, i may consider bending the two edges in a tad..
