 Our family's 1985 Mehari
Thought it was about time I did a post on our Mehari. There was a write up on her a while ago in the 2cvGB mag. Essentially, my eldest brother bought it in 1987 for £4000, did a few L2Bs in it etc. He and my two other brothers then drove it to Portugal for the world meeting. There's various other stickers on it including original UDAC, Camel Club and a SODEXO sticker which I think Jono said was a FN security sticker? My eldest brother then moved away and handed it to my youngest brother who used it as his daily driver for a few years! It was put into a garage in 1998 and stayed there, unused until 2008 when we put her back on the road for the 40th anniversary. Its done about 60,000km and is in completely original condition, there's never been any welding done to the chassis or the subframes. The plastic has the traditional faded mehari look though. I put 4 replacement 135s on her about 2 weeks ago and fitted a new front hood holder down thing... I've used it a bit over the last 2 years, but sadly never brought her to a reg day. Considering she sat for so long she runs really wel, happily sitting at a 120k on the clock on a good run. So there she is - the family heirloom since 1987 Sadly I hear the powers at be are looking to sell it So if anyone is after a really really nice, original low milage Mehari PM me.

Your best bet would be to take it to Reg with a For Sale sign on it...

French World Meeting, Orleans, 1989... Really nice Mehari, that. I'd buy it if I had the money/didn't already own a Mehari.

Thing is I like taking my car to these things and 3 hours is a long drive in a Mehari.

Listen, you're the man - tell her. What do you say to a woman with 2 black eyes? Nothing - you've already told her twice

I wonder what Mrs Bertie's reaction to that would be...
