 Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
I've never thought black suited a 2cv. I get the same feeling when I see one in metallic paint, just doesn't seem right somehow, doesn't suit the shape, or something? Purely personal opinion of course, but I do think they lend themselves better to a solid colour. And if that's still there this weekend I might have a dabble. I suppose it would be wrong to 602 it?

That's not black, it is the original Bleu Nuit or midnight blue. It looks good in the metal. Old-Nail wrote: I've never thought black suited a 2cv. Not sure they ever painted a 2CV in that colour, but it is as you say a standard Citroen colour that is very cool. My Traction was Bleu Minuit.

I agree with that. I've yet to see a metallic 2cv that (imo) suits it. Black (again, imo) however, does work well in the metal.

 Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
I know of two Belgian spec 2cvs in the midlands that are factory black Specials. They are rather lovely, so much so, I was seriously considering having my car painted black back in '08, but stayed with the original green/white(but de-Dolly-fied).

 Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
You need to have very straight panels to have a black car, it's the worst possible colour for showing up the slightest imperfection. As 2cv's are usually dimply and denty anyway, black possibly isn't the most natural choice, but does look good on a perfect car. I saw a metallic gunmetal grey one at 2cv City last week, and while it looked ok in an immaculate sort of way, by using metallic paint some of the character of the 2cv was lost somehow.
