Bit more work done before and after work today, only two more bits to repair, hopefully it'll be at least as strong as a standard 2cv chassis, if not a bit stronger.

RT, The D*lly body is still at a mates house (where it'll probably stay now), but it's probably not better than your car, it certainly needs a bonnet hinge, screen surround, rear sweeps, and bulkhead repairs, just for starters.

Here are the pictures of the body I was sent, I've said 'YES PLEASE' to it, although it's the other end of the country and I have no trailer, so it's a bit of a PITA to collect, hopefully I'll be able to shoot up and get it after Caen, Spanners has very kindly offered to help, although I'm contemplating a rental van for the day.

Post Re: 2CV Crosser
Arrived at work this morning to find the shotblaster and painter had been busy on saturday...

Image

Amazed it survived so well in the shotblaster, although our chap's pretty sound, so he took it easy, they had time to get it in primer before going home saturday...

...meaning lunchtime today they were able to get it into the paint shop and put the topcoat on, I wanted it bright pink, but because i had to use whatever paint we had left over, I got a choice between black (boring) dark green (boring) and bright orange. I chose orange.

Those pictures don't really give a good idea of the colour, but this one is pretty close.

I'm hoping to do the body in Hollis colours (blue and orange) to match the chassis. getting the chassis welded, reinforced and painted has been a major boost, now it's pretty much a case of cleaning, painting and modifying bits and fitting them as appropriate. I'd like to take the car, unfinished or not to registers day in July, this means having it rolling at least, so I have a lot of work to do before then...

If all else fails, take all the bits and a toolbox and get people to pay a quid a time to learn how to use a spanner ;)
