Re: 1988 Road legal racer I hope so, it was good before on 1 and a bit cylinders and bugger all compression so it should (hopefully) be really good fun now.

Re: 1988 Road legal racer Yay, she runs! I've only had her running in the garage so I'm yet to see how she drives and whether it's good, bad or indifferent. That treat will have to wait until after the weekend but hey ho-she runs and that's good enough for me!

Re: 1988 Road legal racer Erm Simon, I think I need to see if she runs okay before I start planning any more engine builds/mods!  The good news is that after a panic about insurance last night, I found it doesn't expire for another 2 weeks so I've got a bit of time to find some pennies for MOT and insurance and I WILL be able to take her out for a spin when I get back from Cadwell.

Re: 1988 Road legal racer It runs but smokes like a chimney. That said, I think I could just detect the first sounds of the "death rattle" just before I switched it off!  I'm gonna rip the front off it again tomorrow afternoon and see if there's anything obvious like one of the new stem seals let go or similar. Hey ho, nothing ventured, nothing gained eh?
