I read in 2cv magazine an advert offering classic car insurance in France starting at €22! On my Ami6 and Bamboo it is £170!

My Merc is pretty horrific at £250 a year!

Insurance for my fleet starts with car one at 48 Euros and each subsequent car added to the policy at 37 Euros.

Because the UK is RIP-OFF BRITAIN, we are being screwed by companies and the government (local and national) and the British public just accept it. :x

Oh, and when the British tax payer says 'enough!' and start to protest, the government quickly bring in new laws to stop it

Goods in the UK are very much cheaper than in Europe, so hardly a rip off. I suspect car insurance is high because the roads are full so statistically a high risk.

I would gladly swap your UK taxes for what we have here, though I still prefer the life in France so I don't moan about it.

...and that's the big trade-off.

Different countries raise their revenue in different ways. Some with high direct taxes (income tax, corporation tax). Others with high indirect taxes (VAT, import duty, car tax).

What it comes down to in the end, though, is that if you want to pay less tax, you have to choose which of services you want the government to spend less on.

(And, yes, I am conveniently forgetting about the waste, incompetence and frittering-away that they all do so much of...)

I have a Solex S3800 (build in France) and A Solex Oto (build in The Netherlands.)

My S3800 I bought in a good condition and original. After Tom drived it for 120km in one day He bought his one Solex Oto. Crazy dude!!! ;)

The white one is the S3800

The Oto I bought as a wreck. Fully build it up again and changed the cilinder and the piston for a quicker one. Now it runs 40km/h. But the clutch came loose and I have too fix that first.

You have got to tell me more about that, does it belong to someone you know? have you got any more pictures? The bike was a 250 superdream but is that some sort of industrial engine? And only 125cc, does it even move under it's own power?
Sorry, so many questions.
