If I keep it I think it'll have to be old skool narrow headlight bar, aluminium pressed grille, racing spoiler, black or maybe white rims with Smart car tyres and my racing springs, with cut and turned front arms. I'll change the stickers so it reads SLAMboo.

There's quite a bit involved in tidying it up, the inner wings have had some tragic patches put in, one front floor has been welded in beautifully but on the wrong side and the wrong way up(!?) and it could do with a screen surround, bonnet hinge and back panel.

It'd also mean I'd have to give my yellow 2CV to my girlfriend to keep the folks happy (too many cars!!) which I'm not too sure about at the moment.

The more I think about it the more I want to keep it and give it the slammed hardcore look...

WTF, are you Yoda now?

I like a nice Bamboo, although after going to the new years day beach BBQ today (pics later) and there were 2 of them! Common as Dollys nearly! The work starts on this one as soon as possible, ready for its 1100 mile baptism of fire next weekend, loads of polishing, a few panels here and there and some decent suspension...

Well as I didn't get to do the jobs I wanted to today, I thought I'd have a go at making the Bamboo a bit less bent after its accident...

Image

I gave up trying to straighten the old light bar, it was almost impossible to fit the wings and the headlights stuck out further one side than the other! I put a used one on, which luckily had the right chrome headlights fitted!

Image

While I had the wings off I had a bit of a scrub up and cleaned all the grime off the inners, makes it nicer to work on next time!

Image

Because the old light bar had been sitting around for years the terminals were a bit corroded and I had a bit of a 'mare getting to to work as it should, got there in the end!

Image

Pretty futile, but I had a stab at buffing the wings up, they are past it really and some of the scratches/dents are too deep but it certainly looks better for it...

Image

...same for the bonnet...

..and the bootlid...

Image

..which got some stickers at the same time!

Image

next job is to bin the springs for stiffer ones and the front arms for caster corrected negative camber ones.
