Having just seen one of these (again) in the flesh - this time in a shopping centre in Warrington - I have to say I think it is actually very dull, especially the back.

As odd as they may look I have come to be a huge fan of those LED running lights that are cropping up everywhere. They make over cars far easier to see though misted up or very grubby windows, especially on grey days when people don't turn their lights on.

If its sooo damn anti retro, why use the DS name again? eh? eh? Answer me that Andre...

Suffice to say it will probably be a mediocre car jazzed up with trinkets as opposed to a great car. How can it be technologically advanced? Its still got wheels FFS!

Marketing is such a load of bollocks, since when has ipod connectivity been regarded as a leap forward in technology?

Lol I can see a furture where cars will grind to a halt unless they've received the latest software patch to fix issues....oh no wait were already there.

Question, should we be offended by the use of John Lennon's manipulated image in this advert or is it very clever

Blimey. Who gives a toss? He wasn't deity, just a famous Scouser with a lot to say, some of it sensible, some of it not. The ad's clever and makes Citroen's point well, 'no sense in clinging to the past'. Some truth in that, but we need to look to the past to make good innovation and also to respect what's gone before. Most likely Lennon wouldn't have been anything without the rest of the Beatles and the music they made - which we still treasure and enjoy - even if they're from the past. :?

Citroen and the rest of the car industry advertising is full of shit. Always has been. They'll sprout any rubbish as long as it suits their immediate needs.

I haven't seen a DS3 in the metal yet, but from the pictures it's pretty and butch at the same time and at least it looks different to the herd. Maybe the Citroen will liven things up a bit. Which is more than I can say for the new baby Audi. God, another boring breadloaf - talk about dredging up the dreary bits of the past. It makes the DS3 look as if it's from outer space. :!:

Calm down dears, it's only a commercial.

So when Citroen finally introduce a 21st century "Retro" 2cv(DS4 :?: ), can we use this Lennon ad., as ammunition? ;)

Post Re: New DS3 TV Advert
Hello guys,

I had the chance to see the DS3 personally in Citroen's 90th Anniversary parade in Portugal. I didn't get blown away by the design, nor the interior. It looked more like a MINI-based vehicle. The car it's nice but not overwhelming IMHO.
Regarding the ad, I've seen better from Citro marketers...
Like Jonathan I'm also much more anxious to see a glimpse of the real 2cv remake (if that is ever going to happen)...

Cheers,

Can't say I'm anxious to see a retro 2cv, paulo  Just saying the chance of there being one, is quite high and when it does arrive, we can say to Citroen "Thought you said retro is bad?"

Of course, you could argue that Citroen have already done a retro car, using the silhouette of the 2cv.......
