Looking pretty sweet Russ 8-) Did you dig out some new seats from the scrappy?

it's even rarer now, unique you might say. At least in the UK... Any pics of this Argentinean one?

I've done nothing to this for a week or so. It misfired a bit on the way home last week so I bunged it in the garage where it can stay until I can be arsed to open the bonnet and look at it. It hasn't had a service in 10,000 miles so that's probably not ideal...

I might get it out tomorrow. Meh.

Amazing and rare burst of enthusiasm means I now have an engine in bits.

But it's a big pile o'shite.

I wasn't going to use the pistons anyway, but I think the barrel and the head are damaged, so I won't be using that barrel and I can't get it out of the head at the moment so until I do that I'm not sure how scrap the head is.

Ah well.

Nice one Russ, all looks very familiar there. Although at least you're not as lazy as me and have taken the engine out! 8-)

Post Re: 1967 Ami6 Break
haha, don't believe it, that's not the engine from the Ami, that's just the one that was closest to the door when I went over to the garage this morning!

They are all unknown and not from cars I've had or driven so it was just pot luck, naturally, this one was shite.

I have taken the heads apart but the mating faces are a bit beyond it, so as it's getting cold I've packed up for the day, given dad a big bag of valves and stuff to run through the parts washer tomorrow and clean up, got a pair of good barrels I found in a box whilst rummaging in the garage and a head which isn't damaged at all to take to work and strip down (o/t in the morning means an hour of tinkering time before the boss gets in, at time + 1/2) I've just got to find another head for the opposite side, which looking in the pile of bits I've got means taking another engine to bits, and it's too late in the day for that now.

Just a quicky here, has anybody got a pile of l/h heads and no r/h ones? it's just for some reason I have a pile of r/h heads and no l/h sides, I'm just wondering where they've all gone?

Anybody want to run a book on whether it'll ever run, and if so, how long it'll last?

No way would I fit heads like that. It is the classis pinging eating away the edge. Sadly its bin time. If you decided to fit them, it wouldn't take long before compression will escape between the head and the barrel. I’m not sure that a copper gasket would improve so in my book, it’s KAPUT

I should have made it clear that I've no intention of fitting them, I have another head in the car and another to collect on my way to work tomorrow.
