 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Wintry weather makes Old-Nail's rebuild a less than inviting proposition - especially outside! Brakes are now connected but yet to be bled, various wires have found a home, (whether it's the right home only time will tell) and the steering stem/ignition switch is now back on. It's not much, but it's a start, and I've only eight weeks left to finish it http://olsnails2cv.blogspot.com/

Eight weeks until the wife's birthday when we are supposed to be going on holiday for a few days in it.

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Time for 'a right good moan' as things start to go wrong on the Old-Nail resto blog. Cramped working conditions, illogical wiring sequences, and a broken ignition switch makes for lots of cussing and muttering, but not much progress. Definitely one step forward two steps back day. http://olsnails2cv.blogspot.com/

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
maybe, but it's looking to me like it's worth the hard work.

What Russ said.
I love watching peoples progress on rebuilds.
Give me a kick up the bum to get stuff done and your car looks lovely.

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
With most of the wiring connected now other than in the panel area which will be done when I fit the new ignition switch, I've changed tack and fitted a complete new exhaust. It's quite a fiddle getting the heat manifold/exchanger/cross-box connections tight while managing to bolt the gearbox hangers on but I managed. I've used the shorter side exit tail pipe which I hear needs a zip tie to stop it swinging around, I've fitted one, (or two) but they look too close to the radiated heat to last very long. On the body I've also used rubber grommets to fill those four holes that exist on the posts, I injected waxoyl through those earlier, and with grommets fitted I'll be able to put more in at regular intervals. I'm now finished stripping my donor vehicle and am just left with the empty husk of the car to dispose of. More here. http://olsnails2cv.blogspot.com/

 Re: My old Blue Bamboo
Great work, it looks fantastic. I think the cable ties will be fine though, The rubber hanger doesn't have a problem dealing with the heat...
