REG: Right. You're in. Listen. The only people we hate more than the Romans are the f**king Judean People's Front. P.F.J.: Yeah... JUDITH: Splitters. P.F.J.: Splitters... FRANCIS: And the Judean Popular People's Front. P.F.J.: Yeah. Oh, yeah. Splitters. Splitters... LORETTA: And the People's Front of Judea. P.F.J.: Yeah. Splitters. Splitters... REG: What? LORETTA: The People's Front of Judea. Splitters. REG: We're the People's Front of Judea! LORETTA: Oh. I thought we were the Popular Front. REG: People's Front! C-huh. FRANCIS: Whatever happened to the Popular Front, Reg? REG: He's over there. P.F.J.: Splitter!

 Re: D*lly Lovers Thread
The truth is mate, when I had my first car (knackered even then!) you could literally buy one new, pick it up from the dealer and drive straight to a meeting. We did tend to look down on those who just turned up when we'd put in a lot of work to keep ours on the road, pretty much like those who would take a brand new MGF to MG owners club meetings maybe.
Of course, things are different now that there are a lot less on the roads

 Re: D*lly Lovers Thread
As a postscript, it should be noted that this scheme backfired rather badly in those climates where the Ami's multitude of rust traps ensured that it became the donor, rather than the recipient, of mechanical spares... < http://www.leboncoin.fr/vi/55044217.htm?ca=17_s > ken Russell wrote: They tried this scheme earlier and called it project Dyane, which was a similar method to ensure plentiful future stocks of Ami engines.

I was living just round the corner from a Cit dealer in 1989/90 - and watching the last few loads of 2cvs being unloaded from the transporter, trying to wonder how (as a broke student) I could raise the £3500 or whatever it was to upgrade from my S-reg drummer...

 Re: D*lly Lovers Thread
in all fairness, i dont see whats wrong with the D*lly's? they are just another 2cv...
the charlestons don't get slated for being 2 colours, the cocorico.. not that we had it? the Spot? everyone loves the Spots? but that was just a special edition based on the 2cv4! the bamboo was a special ed which was exactly the same as a D*lly...
The D*lly was just a variation of the Special with a few added extras like an interior light, black surround grille, chrome sill strips and a parcel shelf type cover between the back seats and bootlid! They are just another 2cv at the end of the day just with different coloured wings and bootlid, and with some vinyl on the doors!...
