 Re: My 2cv
Looking at prices to go to France next week. I can get a LD Lines crossing from Dover-Boulogne for £40, or if I was a prize candidate for a straight-jacket in a padded cell, I could pay £218.50 and spend my holiday under the English channel, courtesy of EuroTunnel

 Re: My 2cv
Even after the winter barn tour shambles I'm still a convert of the tunnel, but it does make you wonder how they justify thier prices.

 Re: My 2cv
I think with me, Russ, if I've driven straight down from the Midlands, part of "My Holiday" is sitting on the ferry and enjoying a few hours rest, before heading off south of Calais/boulogne(whichever I've landed at). I just hope my stomach can cope with "Ferry in Winter"

 Re: My 2cv
I've always maintained that the ferry is better because you actually feel your holiday has started, whereas the train you drive on and drive off without really noticing it, but the more I've used the tunnel the more convenient I find it, but with thier immense prices, I won't be using them avery time!

 Re: My 2cv
Ok, hopefully have the 2cv back by Wednesday, then get the fabia booked in for MOT. If the Fabia passes first time, or passes with little expenditure, I'll be booking my ferry ticket to France Thinking of heading down to Mulhouse. Disabling the "Use Toll Roads" on my sat-nav, it'll take me via Belgium and Luxembourg(not been to Luxembourg yet, another country to tick off my list ) and Mulhouse is close to Switzerland(another new country for me and the 2cv ). Fingers crossed.

 Re: My 2cv
Yay!! Just got back from collecting the 2cv, Peter worked through the weekend, so I only need to worry about the Skoda's MOT. Hopefully get it MOTed by Wednesday and if it gets through, I'm off to France on Thursday.

 Re: My 2cv
Just come in from spending the afternoon cleaning, washing, polishing the 2cv and spraying on tyre shine, in the hope of going to France later in the week(Trouble is, I now wish I hadn't, it's far too clean and shiny and I know it'll get filthy, before I even get to Dover ) How sad am I? Washing a car in winter?? Crazy!!

 Re: My 2cv
Fabia has passed the MOT, so tomorrow morning, I'm off round to an ATM to double-check my bank balance, head back home, log online and book a ferry for Thursday morning and a B&B in Dover, for tomorrow night I've found an amazing B&B in the Blackforest of southern Germany and really cheap...... http://www.thegrunenberg.com/Whole%20page.htm Just 50 odd miles from Mulhouse.
