This has got me thinking, I wonder if anybody has ever considered chrome plating a whole 2cv? I'm sure it'd be expensive and really difficult, but the shape would really suit it.

I think it would be great! But I also like the industrial look of the galv car, I think citroen should have done this from the start, it would have made the cars even more 'maintenance free' and they would have lasted a lot longer.

Russell,
just think of all the lovely rust spots after a few years.
The chromed headlamp shells are bad enough once they start to fail and unlike galvanizing, it's not self-healing... :(

ken.

p.s. I've cut open some more Ami/aks400/Acadiane cans to see what lurks inside. Have you had any more thoughts on your suspension uprating and have your original Ami front arms been replaced with 2CV type. Or did I dream up that last bit?

And good news, my car is converted to accept both Euro 95 and E85, i've finally found a gas station for E85, only €0,89 per liter :D

Russ me and max discussed this while we were at uni we thought it would look fab but then realised (as someone else said) that on a sunny day it would cause a LOT of accidents with glare.

Ps i love this car i just showed it to Lauren who sits next to me at work too and she said woooowww thats great i like it :D :D :D

It looks good - as long as it's clean. I went past a matt black Merc CLS AMG on the motorway a little while back - and it was "travel-stained". Looked bloody awful.

How to :-

To chrome panels without them looking awful requires a completely straight, dent free panel or it will exaggerate every blemish in the metalwork. So probably wouldnt look too great on a 2cv :D

I can vouch for this. My bonnet used to blind me a lot when the sun was shining on it, I felt like i needed sun visors on the bottom of my windscreen.
