I suspect that means that their receptionist's gone home.

If you're not going to be near a fax machine until tomorrow, ring 'em tomorrow.

Faxed  all the required details & identification off to the nice man at Slough this morning, only to receive a 'phone call at lunchtime to tell me that the chassis number isn't recognised! I was asked if it was actually a Citroen  & the only way around it he could see was if i supplied photographs of the VIN plate. I did this along with a Photo of the number stamped into the front chassis leg...

Received a reply earlier:

Hello Neil

Thank you for sending the photos of the VIN plate to me. Please give me
the opportunity to investigate this, which will most probably take 4 to 5
days and then I will call you with our findings.

Have a good weekend.

Stephen Stevens

AY CD xxCDxxxx would be the right VIN for an Acad.

Well, 8 weeks in & still no further on with a dating certificate from Citroen. I had an email earlier in the week:

Quote:
Hello Neil

I am sorry for the delay and have been chasing this up weekly with France. However, I am afraid they get a lot of requests from all over the world so this can take maybe a little longer than we would like.

I do appreciate your patience & will be in contact very soon.

I've just phoned Citroen UK & asked if Robert S. Page was still in charge of the after sales division... sadly he isn't.

If i had a car under 10 years old they could date it & send me a certificate in 7-10 working days. Because it's so old it has go through Citroen France & they have to trawl the archives.
