There's many jobs on A-series that some people complain about but the one that I hate most is rear "curly" brake pipes.

I've got them sussed these days. The trick I use is my trolley jack handle-the handle fits down the "middle" of the coil and allows you to keep everything in the right place and push the thread on the bracket back through the hole in the axle.

I s'pose my ultimate rear brake pipe top tip would have to be; if you've got the body off the chassis for any reason and the rear brake pipes are remotely dubious, change them while the shell's off-they're a piece of piss then!

Top tip there spanners me lad. If mine ever need doing, I know who to come to now!

Hmmmm, seem to have dropped myself in it there!

Or you could just dispense with the curly brake pipes, get 4x4 kit and then have external pipes and disks all round...

but thats a rather costly alternative

haha me and dad never thought of the trolley jack handle idea... the offside pipe went in alright but we couldnt get the left side lined up properly.... the bolt goes through but the lug just doesnt... its almost asif the lugs not quite where its sposed to be..... anyways have checked recently and everything still seems ok, not rubbing or contacting the tube so im happy

top tip there spanners, i hate doing those, just done a set last weekend, more to do on my sisters dyane, harumph, sulks.

Ive just done mine on the Bamboo cause its being re-chassied. Beginners luck (well body off) and it went real easy, fixed them all up, screwed them into the dividing block thingy (dont know what thats called).

All looking great, then noticed a rubber seal on the floor...thats not too bad....just need to unscrew them and see where one is missing....but then Ive now lost the bug**r so going to have to get an order off for a just one single rubber seal !

Bloody annoying !

Oh I bought the pipes not as "curly" sets, so simple wind around a broom handle was close enough and used old set as a rough guide.

Oh...whats the thrts on this ?

The tabs that hold the pipes to the rear arms on my Boo have totally rusted off...

....so I need to weld new ones on or can I simply Cable tie the pipes to the arms ?
